Wag mo akong ma-Terry Terry!!!

When I was younger, I have probably only ever saw tagalog films was when I was with Mami. "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin," directed by Chito Rono, was one of them. Who doesn't know Maricel Soriano?? I've seen her mostly in her comedy films when she was younger, and she was always a pleasure to watch, I didn't mind it at all. I don't remember much if this film from when I was younger, but the lines stated in the image are kinda epic in the world of pinoy movies. So last night I chanced upon this great movie once again after ages of ages of not seeing it, and it was exactly on the confrontation scene (the image above). Recently, Maricel Soriano and Eugene Domingo were guests in GGV promoting their movie, and they reenacted this part. So it was a bit of refresher. As Maricel was ushered in by the Zsa Zsa's help through the kitchen, I felt tense and I remembered thinking, this is THAT scene! Zsa Zsa babbles on as Maricel continually stares blankly but ...

Seven Deadly Sins and Sexual Abuse?

So I've been binge watching Seven Deadly Sins... and I love all the main characters, the story, the world, EVERYTHING ABOUT IT... but there's a problem- a groping problem. I cannot ignore it anymore as I was close to the end of the first season. I actually don't have a problem with the groping... I don't know if it's because I've seen millions of animes and that I've somehow developed a deep understanding of this subculture which makes me think that the groping is not really a real problem but that it was meant to be funny? I looked it up and was surprised to see that there are mixed feedback about it. Some are disgusted, some think that it was meant to be funny and doesn't find the groping a problem (like me), and there were others who didn't care at all but were watching because of the great story line. It still unsettled me a little so I had to dive in deeper and read through spoilers. So apparently, Melodias and Elizabeth are destined love...

My History with NU

Written Nov. 8, 2013 10:56AM In the early 2000s I was in my teens. Like any other teenager, the journey of self actualization starts. I tried lots of new things. I discovered I'm actually good with pencils and colors, what more, I was also making up my own stories, stories I wished I had finished while I was younger. It's a different mindset once you're older. Bitterly, I admit that the magic I once felt when all those stories were swirling in my mind is now gone. I just can't get myself to finish any of the stories I had started, not that I'm trying very hard here. It just feels off to be doing these kinds of stuff, when every dang day I'm dealing with fugging mature things. Part of the journey was finding the music that my heart would sing to. It was a great time for music, internationally that is. Britney, Christina, boy bands and especially rock bands were everywhere!
