Unshakable - Slapshock

The boys from Slapshock -Jamir, Lee, Chi, Jerry and Lean, featuring JD of Pop Shuvit, along with Apl.de.Ap Foundation & BMBX Entertainment bring you "Unshakable." A song about the resilience and strength of the Filipinos amidst the tragedy that hit Philippines, the super typhoon Haiyan or locally named Bagyong Yolanda.

Weeks ago I've seen from Jamir's instagram account, he and the guys went to Tacloban, the most damaged city, I was thinking they went there to give relief and give help. They were actually shooting a few  clips of Unshakable at that moment. They were giving signed guitars to these dudes and you could see their faces light up and that was just the most heartbreaking thing. Then they showed individual shots of the locals and captioned with the loved ones they have lost and that just got me all tearing up again.

In other Slapshock songs, Jamir's voice is always powerful and invigorating that infects the audience and results to a massive smashing and pounding... but in Unshakable, never have I heard Jamir's voice this solemn. You feel the edge, it's right there and you know it because what Slapshock felt and poured out to this song you have also experienced.

When the earth moves
When the water swallows you
Through the fire and the rain
All the tragedy and pain.

When the wind blows
When the world comes crashing down
When everything around you falls apart.

Let your...

Listen to the sound
Stepping through the air
I know you feel alone in this place
The picture on the wall
Slowly fades away
The memories are gone forever.

Silent voices weeping
Can you hear me?

When the earth moves
When the water swallows you
Through the fire and the rain
All the tragedy and pain.

When the wind blows
When the world comes crashing down
When everything around you falls apart
Let your heart be unshakable.

My heart my mind my soul
I leave it out to you
Nothing could ever break us
We can make it through.

I take away your pain
I wash it down the drain
I hope that you can hear me
I brave for better days.

Hold on...

When the waters recede
When the clouds pass by
Hold your head up high
Oh and the sun will shine

When the earth moves
When the water swallows you
All you hope is gone
You lose the strength to carry on

When the wind blows
When the world comes crashing down
Just believe you'll make it through the day
Don't lose your heart and soul and don't you lose your way

When everything around you falls apart
Let your heart
Be unshakable
Be unbreakable
Be unshakable.

The lyrics is all too simple for a Slapshock song. I guess so it could reach to a wider audience? I don't know, whatever, this song means something and this song whether accepted or not has made its mark in history as one of the anthems of our lives in these sad, sad times. I know it is mines, it's on loop as I'm writing this now.
