Faith in Pinoy Movies

Kristin Wiig said no to a Bridesmaid sequel, saying that it would be easy for her if she'd comeback for the sequel.

"We knew during the first one, this was it. We would have made a lot of money if there was a second one, but that's not my goal in my creative life."

Christian Bale is also following suit. He won't be playing Batman in the upcoming Justice League movie.

"We were incredibly fortunate to get to make three [Batman films]," Bale told Entertainment Weekly when asked if he could slip into the role of Batman once more. "That's enough. Let's not get greedy..."

Philippine movie industry should listen to these artist. It's not always about the money. If they paid much attention to movie artistry and creativity and not how many millions they haul, we shouldn't have to be stumped in this era where it's all mushy dramas, rom-coms and dim-witted comedies. They are all entertaining yes, but hopefully there will come a time that the movies produced will not just be entertaining but also world-class and eye-openers for every Filipino young and old.

Kudos to independent film makers here in Pinas, they are not doing a simple job, they are fighting for something that none may quite imagine being they are in a medium where the public has little knowledge of. We don't know their struggles and their pains and yet they receive little. I still hope, ofcourse that things will change.
